Finding iPod Serial Number in iTunes

How to find your iPod serial number using iTunes 6:

1) Launch iTunes
2) Open iTunes Preferences from under the iTunes menu item in the menu bar
3) Select the “iPod” tab

then if your iPod is connected:
4) Click on the Version Number in the right corner of the iPod preference screen and it will display your serial number

or if your iPod is not connected
5) Click on the “No iPod is Connected” message

in the center of the screen and it will display the serial number of the LAST iPOD THAT WAS CONNECTED.
